Gavin established Balmain’s 6th office in 2000 to service the rapidly growing Central Coast and Hunter regions.

Gavin specialises in large scale commercial, industrial and retail investment and development loans. With the recent growth in population in these regions, Gavin has also provided debt and equity to some of the most successful residential developments. Given the rapidly expanding aged care industry, Gavin has also provided finance for retirement villages, aged care facilities (nursing homes) and manufactured housing estates.

Gavin is well supported by one of Balmain’s most experienced analysts in Wendy Foster.

Phil was approached to join the team at Balmain in March 2003.

After 29 years with National Australia Bank, some 18 years in management and the last 7 as a senior relationship manager in commercial banking, the opportunity to be rewarded for performance proved to be a deciding factor.

His experience in commercial banking, in Sydney, the Central Coast and Hunter, spans the complexities of almost every commercial transaction and makes him well skilled to accommodate the astute investor or business, whatever their needs might be.

He has a passion for good red wine and has an extensive cellar.

An avid basketball player he still plays 3 times a week.

After completing his university studies, Matthew secured a place on one of the major bank’s graduate programs. During the next 6 years Matthew spent time in the bank’s major client group property division and the banks corporate recovery area.

It was during his time in corporate recovery that Matthew witnessed the bank’s mentality towards some clients and their inflexible approach.

Matthew joined Balmain in 2003 and continues to enjoy finding a workable solution for all his clients.
